Mars & Other Planets was created in New Orleans, Louisiana in 2023 by singer-songwriter Marissa Douglas. They've since released two full length albums and an EP. Their first album, self-titled, was selected for inclusion in New Orleans Public Library's Crescent City Sounds Collection, and their second was featured in nola.com's Gabmit/Best of New Orleans.

Initially a 4-piece folk rock project, Mars & Other Planets has developed into an alt-rock trio with a truly unique arrangement & sound: baritone guitar, keys, vocals, drums.

Fans and reviewers have highlighted the band's bold experimentation with elements of pop, grunge, folk, progressive rock, doom metal, jazz, and musical theatre.
